It has been a busy day of transfer activity for Arsenal, as the club has officially confirmed the signings of winger Noni Madueke from London rivals Chelsea and defender Christian Mosquera from Valencia.
Madueke, 23, joins in a deal worth a significant £52 million. In his first interview, he stated his ambitions: “I want to win all the competitions we’re in… I’ve spoken to Dec, Bukayo, and they all say amazing things about the club and the culture here, how much of a family it is. I’m really happy to be a part of the Arsenal family now.”
In addition, the club also confirmed the arrival of Spanish defender Christian Mosquera for £18 million. In a humorous twist, Arsenal’s media team accidentally uploaded one of Mosquera’s media photos within the Noni Madueke announcement gallery, giving fans an early, unplanned confirmation of the second deal.
The two signings significantly bolster Mikel Arteta’s squad with both proven Premier League talent and a high-potential defensive reinforcement.
