The club’s primary intention is not to sell Konaté this summer. Their top priority remains to convince the French international to sign a new long-term contract to extend his stay at Anfield.
However, Liverpool are adamant that they will not allow the player to run down his contract and leave on a free transfer in 2026, in a direct response to Real Madrid’s recent ultimatum.
Therefore, the club has set a clear condition: if Konaté does not agree to sign a new deal, only then will they be open to a sale. In that specific scenario, Liverpool will listen to offers starting from £40 million.
