Manchester United have officially announced the signing of forward Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford, bringing one of the summer’s longest-running transfer sagas to a close.
The deal is worth up to £71 million, which The Athletic reports will be paid in four installments. The Cameroon international has put pen to paper on a contract that runs until June 2030, with the club holding an option for an additional year.
Mbeumo, who will wear the No. 19 shirt, expressed his delight at the move, calling Manchester United “the club of my dreams” and “the team whose shirt I wore growing up.”
His arrival follows a sensational 2024-25 season where he scored 20 Premier League goals for Brentford. He joins other new signings like Matheus Cunha and Diego León as manager Ruben Amorim overhauls his attack. The signing is seen as a major upgrade to United’s forward options as they aim to “challenge for the biggest trophies.”
