The Premier League Summer Series is officially returning to the United States in 2025, following the cancellation of last year’s tournament. The preseason event features four Premier League teams competing in a week-long event across three different American venues.
This year’s participating teams are Manchester United, West Ham United, Bournemouth, and Everton. Interestingly, the latter three clubs all finished above the Red Devils in the 2024–25 Premier League table, which should make for a highly competitive tournament.
The games will be held at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, Soldier Field in Chicago, and Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. The format is a simple round-robin where each team plays the other once. The team with the most points at the end will be crowned the champion, succeeding the inaugural winners, Chelsea, from 2023.
The tournament kicks off on Saturday, July 26, with a doubleheader at MetLife Stadium, headlined by the clash between Manchester United and West Ham.
All eyes will be on Manchester United, where their new £71 million signing, Bryan Mbeumo, could make his highly anticipated debut. The Red Devils will also face a tricky test against their “bogey side,” Bournemouth, in Chicago, a team they are unbeaten against in their last four meetings.
The Summer Series concludes in Atlanta on Sunday, August 3, with Manchester United taking on Everton in the final match of the tournament. The event promises a week of exciting, competitive preseason action for American fans, offering a first look at the teams ahead of the new campaign.
