Newcastle United are facing a challenging period in the transfer market, with top Premier League clubs circling two of their key young players, forcing the club to fight battles on multiple fronts.

According to a report from TBR Football, reigning champions Manchester City have made a new approach for talented right-back Tino Livramento, with the offer said to be worth a substantial £50 million.

The Magpies have responded defensively to City’s strong interest. Instead of entering into negotiations, Newcastle’s priority is to tie Livramento down to a new and improved long-term contract to secure his future at St James’ Park.

However, while they are fighting to keep one star, there has been a significant shift in their stance regarding another. The club is now reportedly “braced for the possible departure” of wantaway striker Alexander Isak. This suggests they are beginning to accept that they may be forced to sell the player this summer, after he previously expressed his desire to leave.

As they prepare for Isak’s potential exit, Newcastle have already started identifying replacements. According to the Express and Star, Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Jørgen Strand Larsen has been named as a possible target to fill the potential void left by the Swedish international.

Newcastle are now in a difficult position, simultaneously trying to fend off Manchester City for Livramento while beginning to plan for life after their star striker, Isak.
