The official nominees for the 2025 Ballon d’Or Men’s Team Coach of the Year have been revealed, featuring a star-studded list of five managers who all achieved incredible success in their debut or first full seasons with their respective clubs.
The clear favourite for the award is Paris Saint-Germain’s Luis Enrique. The Spanish coach guided PSG to a historic treble in the 2024-25 season, most notably winning the club’s first UEFA Champions League title in 32 years—a monumental achievement for French football.
Pushing him close for the award will be Barcelona’s Hansi Flick. In his first year in charge at Camp Nou, the German manager delivered the club’s first-ever domestic treble, securing La Liga, the Copa del Rey, and the Supercopa de España in a dominant campaign.
Liverpool’s Arne Slot also earned a deserved nomination for his remarkable achievement at Anfield. Taking over from the legendary Jürgen Klopp, Slot successfully navigated the world’s toughest league to lead the Reds to Premier League glory in his very first season.
Also on the five-strong shortlist is Antonio Conte, who masterminded Napoli’s Serie A title victory in his first season at the helm, famously snatching the Scudetto from under the nose of Inter in the final moments of the campaign.
The final nominee is Chelsea’s Enzo Maresca. In his debut season at Stamford Bridge, the Italian coach, a former understudy of Pep Guardiola, guided the Blues to a memorable double trophy-winning season, securing both the UEFA Conference League and the newly expanded FIFA Club World Cup.
The five-man shortlist represents a remarkable collection of managerial achievements. While all are worthy contenders, the historic Champions League triumph of Luis Enrique’s PSG likely makes him the man to beat when the winner is announced in Paris this September.
