Manchester United will be looking to bounce back from their first defeat to Ruben Amorim as they host Nottingham Forest on Saturday in a Premier League game.
The Red Devils were delayed by Arsenal’s impressive form on Wednesday evening in a 2-0 defeat in north London. After a draw and two wins in his first three games in charge of Man Utd, it was Amorim’s first defeat since arriving in England.
Man Utd still find themselves in the bottom of the league as they welcome their impressive side Forest to Old Trafford. They have won just five of their opening 14 Premier League games, one of which came in a 4-0 thrashing of Everton last weekend.
Forest’s impressive early form has declined in recent weeks. Hard matches have shown Nuno Espirito Santo’s side to defeat, with defeats against Newcastle United, Arsenal and Manchester City in three of their last four games. The trip to Old Trafford will be straightforward, with Forest giving up a two-goal lead in a 3-2 defeat last season.
Man Utd news
Injuries are starting to ease for Man Utd before a tough season for Amorim. Leny Yoro made his competitive debut for the Red Devils against Arsenal on the bench, meaning only Jonny Evans, Victor Lindelof and Luke Shaw are out of Manchester this weekend.
Lisandro Martinez and Kobbie Mainoo missed their midweek defeat at the Emirates Stadium with a one-match ban. Both have collected five yellow cards this season in the Premier League but will return to Forest’s front line.
Amorim is still figuring out his best XI squad and there is a chance he will make a difference in Wednesday’s defeat. Marcus Rashford, Amad Diallo and Joshua Zirkzee could all enter the top flight.
