Manchester United CEO Omar Berrada has declared the club’s pre-season tour of the United States a resounding success, praising both the on-field preparations and the significant cultural reset being implemented throughout the club.
“It’s been amazing, it’s been very good. I’m really pleased with how it’s gone,” Berrada said in a review of the tour. He highlighted the excellent training sessions, positive fan interactions, and successful commercial activations, including the launch of the new away kit.
The CEO’s main focus, however, was on the new culture being instilled under the leadership of manager Ruben Amorim and technical director Jason Wilcox. “The mood has been very good. The culture, the standards, the values, we are trying to ensure that we create a team spirit that allows the players to compete at the highest level,” he emphasized.
Berrada made it clear that a new era of professionalism and discipline is underway at Old Trafford. “We have very high standards, Ruben is very clear about that,” he stated. “We have to make sure that everybody abides by them… and that nobody falls out of line.”
The new signings are seen as a key part of this cultural shift. Berrada noted that players like Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha, and Diego Leon were chosen not just for their talent but also their character, and he confirmed they have “adapted really well” to the new environment.
Looking ahead to the new season, the CEO struck a balanced but hopeful tone. “All of the signs are positive and we are cautiously optimistic,” he said. “We hope we are going to have a great season.”
The message from the top at Manchester United is clear and unified. After a period of underachievement, the new leadership team is instilling a culture of elite standards and discipline, from the training ground to the boardroom, as they aim to bring sustained success back to the club.
